I LOVE HER WORDS

I LOVE HER WORDS. I’m a serious fan. Faith is one of my all-time favorite writers. She has this creative bent I adore and envy, and so I look forward to each new book. I am happy to host this stop on her blog tour. And, yes, I pre-ordered the book.

About FINAL HEIR:

The stakes couldn’t be higher in the newest novel in the New York Times bestselling, pulse-pounding Jane Yellowrock series.

Jane Yellowrock is the queen of the vampires, and that makes her a target as she fights to maintain control and keep peace in the city of New Orleans. She has enemies at every turn, because vampires live forever, and they keep their grudges alive with them. That includes the Heir, the vampire sire of the Pellissier bloodline, which gave rise to Leo Pellissier himself—Jane’s old boss and the former master of the city.

With the Heir and all the forces of darkness he can muster arrayed against her, Jane will need all the help she can get. She’ll find it in her city, her friends, her found family, and, of course, the Beast inside of her.

Please Note: Print & ebook copies of FINAL HEIR will be published Sept 6. Audible release will be in October.

Faith’s characters graciously offered to participate in a brief Q&A about the book:

1. If you could step outside the world your writer created for you, and shift into any non-Beast creature you haven’t yet attempted, what would you choose & why? Have you considered going on extended vacay & allowing Beast to have kits again? 🙂

Jane – Oh! Yes! A dolphin. I’d love to swim away from my worries and play for a while. And no, to the kits thing, at least until after the series is over. Despite Beast’s grousing, it isn’t something I’ve considered, as it would require me to be out of the picture for too long. I have godchildren who need protecting!

2. What have you learned about being “goddess born”?

Jane – Ahhhh. Well, I’m a timewalker. Arcenciels are timewalkers. Brute (the werewolf touched by an ornery angel) is a timewalker. Lastly, Gee DiMercy might be a timewalker. In my world, all of them have some kind of tie to Artemis and legendary curse. And that ornery angel. All will be revealed in FINAL HEIR, or enough for you to figure it out yourselves!

3. There was a character I loved in the earlier books, named Bobby. Why don’t you stay in contact with Bobby?

Jane – Bobby needs stability in his life. I can’t give him that. Also, every single person in my life is in danger because of me, but most of them can take care of themselves either with magic or weapons. What would happen if Bobby got snatched by a were or vamp and it was my fault? Nope. I can’t deal with that. Maybe after FINAL HEIR, though I have really good plans for that time that do not involve fighting, screaming, shifting to stay alive, or needing to protect all the people in my life and… when did I get so many people to take care of?

4. This is for Beast and Jane both: Do you think you will ever return to your physical soul home (cave)?

Beast – Beast is best hunter. Cave is good place pull deer carcass to eat. Is good place to birth kits and to sleep. But it also place where bear will sleep. Beast does not need cave when Beast has Jane.

Jane – I don’t know. Best thinks she could find it. It could happen someday.

5. If you trust Eli and Alex like family, why did you keep secrets from them for so long, as if you don’t fully trust them?

Jane – Huh. I never thought about that. Interesting. Well, one is that I’ve always been alone and sharing is a new concept to me. But I do trust them, and I’m getting there with the whole telling secrets thing. Also, Beast and I have a hundred and seventy years of life, most of which I’ve forgotten. So … secrets-r-us? Also, some secrets might hurt other people and those are best kept private, or the secrets actually belong to someone else and aren’t mine to share. Kinda like Eli can’t tell his secrets because they belong to Uncle Sam.

6. This is for Beast. What do you love best about Bruiser and are you mated for life?

Beast – Big Cats do not mate for life. But Bruiser has good smell. Bruiser knows how to scratch Beast’s head and belly. Bruiser brings catnip to Beast. Beast will keep Bruiser as long as possible.
